Performance Golf Golf Lessons and Sport's Psychology by Anthony Scaggs
The theme is the unification of body, mind and soul to IMPROVE: Your full swing and distance
Golf is one of the most demanding and difficult sports that I have ever played. In other sports, if your game is slightly off, teammates can pick up their game to help compensate for you, not in golf. It is you and the course. The course is always changing, from the first rays of sunshine on the dew- kissed greens to the last ray of light in the evening. Do you overcome these variations with a perfect swing? Remember you need at least 72 of them each time you play. By the way, how do you handle the sudden gust of wind? It is mental toughness. While the mechanics are an important part of golf, it is the mental game that will give you confidence and help to balance the whimsical nature of the course. A strong mental game must compliment a good swing and great course management.
What better combination than a Sport Psychologist who passed the demanding PGA "Playing Ability Test and a PGA class A professional. Dr. Charlie Blanchard's mental golf programs are certified for PGA education. He works with several college golf programs and is on the golf teaching staff of Rocky Mountain Golf School as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletics Golf Camp. Herb Wimberly, coach of the New
Mexico University's men's golf team for 31 years, is recognized as a superb teacher. His players included 18 All-Americans and several players who played on tour. He founded NMSU's Professional Golf Management program. Recently, he was elected to the Coaches Hall of Fame. In addition, to Dr. Blanchard and Mr. Wimberly, guest instructors include PGA and LPGA professionals, active golf coaches and teachers, tour players and Professional Golf Management student instructors.
