Enjoy your self-satisfaction at completing hole #7 successfully, it will last as long as it takes you to leave the green and setup for hole #8. Hole #8 is called Falcon's Pride. A name not treated lightly or bestowed upon a hole easily at Falcon's Fire Golf Club. Unless you are a right hander with a controllable banana slice, then you will be hitting a -+200 yard drive from the blue tees over the blue water to a par 3 surrounded by bunkers. There are four bunkers protecting the front. Three bunkers waiting for those who are unable to stop a 200 yard drive on a green that is only 25 yards deep at it widest point.
The beautiful and the ugly apply to Hole #13 which is a 382 yard, par 4 from the blue tees. The beauty is the visual appeal of the hole. The ugly is what happens if one misses their drive. It is all water on the right side from the tee past the green. Misalign, you are in the water. Hit a strong fade, you are in the water. Try to cut too much off the corner, you are in the water. Hit it short, you guessed it. If you hit through the fairway, there are 14 fairway bunkers waiting for the errant ball. Play it safe could leave one with a 150 yard to 175 yard second shot onto a green that varies in depth from 14 yards to 20 yards and slopes towards the water which is along the right side. If one is concerned that the designer ran out of sand on the fairway, don't worry; there are more bunkers protecting the green. This hole is rated as the #8 handicap on the course. However, it is called "Bunker Hill." Check your history books. There is a reason they named it "Bunker Hill."
Hole #15, from the blue tees, is a 144 yard, par 3 and aptly named the Watery Grave. From the tees, one sees a lot of blue, some green and enough sand to make you look several times before swing. The #2 handicap hole is #17. It is a 402 yard, par 4 from the blues. A blue lake on the left and lots of green on the right except the fairway is filled with grass bunkers and perimeter bunkers. The best shot is a 250 to 260 yard drive that lands right of center. It will leave one with a 150 or 140 yard second shot. As the yard book says, this hole is the "Test of Courage." The second shot has to stay away from the water which is protecting the left side of the green, along with a bunker. The right green side is guarded by another bunker. Aiming at the right side bunker, I shaped an eight iron shot by drawing it over the bunker's edge landing on the green. Golfers decide which courses to play based on the following elements course design, course conditioning, location and reputation. Falcon's Fire Golf Club will meet or exceed all your expectations. The staff will make sure of it.
