Basic Golf Swing Skills with 21st Century Technology
Part 2

by Anthony Scaggs

Henderson's set up his camera and Swing Analyzer preparing for his first student. He and his student, Anthony Scaggs, reviewed the Pre-Academy Questionnaire. Henderson designed this Questionnaire to help

  • the student focus on their area of concern,
  • to provide the Instructor with the student's golf experience,
  • to clearly state the student's goals.

While Henderson made the final adjustments to the video equipment, Scaggs stretched and starting hitting some practice balls to warm up and gave Henderson a chance to visually analyze Scaggs'

  • address,
  • take away,
  • weight shift
  • follow through.

Within a very short period of time, Henderson had analyzed areas of improvement and isolated two key points. Correcting these two points would improve Scaggs's swing an ultimately his golf game. The analyzer provided immediate feedback for Scaggs. In addition, to Henderson's explanation, Scaggs was able to visually see the areas needing correction. With the correct image in mind, Scaggs proceed to make the necessary adjustments to a better swing and hopefully a better game. Scaggs' improvements where expedited because immediate visual and verbal feedback was provided while the student was still on the driving range and could immediately implement the changes. When the lesson ended, Scaggs' swing was

  • more consistent,
  • repeatable,
  • better ball contact,
  • significant improvement in accuracy.
